My 2023 travel plans (so far!)

My 2023 travel plans (so far!)

Happy 2023, ya’ll!

The year started out a bit rough for me – I was SO sick the first week of the year, the weather in Dublin has been HORRENDOUS pretty much every day, and to top it all off – my dear bike got stolen…

BUT there is a silver lining to the bad luck that has marked the beginning of the year – and that is that I already have 3 trips planned for 2023, and they’re all happening in the first half of the year! It helps me so much mentally to have something to look forward to and work towards. Plus, it’s a lot easier dealing with all this dark and depressing winter weather when you know that spring is getting closer every day, and with it some amazing travels!

Well dang, it’s been a while.

Hello? Anyone there?? I know I fell off the face of the earth for a while there and haven’t written a post in *checks notes* THREE YEARS, so I thought I’d post a lil life update. I promise I am alive and well! I’m still in Ireland and still loving it.

Actually, the fact that I’m loving it is part of the reason I haven’t posted in so long.

Let me explain with a lil life update.

Bath, England: A 1-Day Itinerary

Bath, England: A 1-Day Itinerary

Sometimes, you just need a little weekend getaway. Especially for those of us who have to be working adults, a quick little trip is a great way for us to still keep our wanderlust in check and see new places, but also not get fired from our jobs for taking too much time off. OK fine, by “we” I’m talking about me.

I for one am always browsing airline sites to see about cheap flights and deals. From Ireland the quickest and cheapest flights, and the most frequent flights, are to the UK. So, after some browsing and researching, I decided to make a little “hit it and quit it” trip to Bath, England. It seemed small enough to explore in a few days, it was cheap and easy to get to, and it looked beautiful.

Well, turns out you can see the best of Bath in just 1 day, and here’s a guide of things to do in Bath, England to help you make sure you don’t miss anything!

My 15 Favorite Travel Photos of 2015

My 15 Favorite Photos of 2015

One of my favorite things to do when traveling is taking pictures. People who travel with me know that not only am I going to have my huge Nikon DSLR around my neck, but will probably have my GoPro and iPhone in my bag as well.

This has been the biggest travel year of my whole life. Sure, I may not have been to as many different countries as some other years, but instead of just traveling around, spending a few days in each country, I’ve actually fulfilled my dream of moving to Europe. Well, Ireland (which is technically Europe but the Irish don’t consider it as such). I’ve been able to travel to some amazing places in Ireland, and used it as an easy base to travel other parts of Europe.

So, I decide to steal this idea from Lauren on Location, because it’s a great way to look back on this amazing year through one of my favorite keepsakes – pictures. I’m using her great idea to look back on 2015 with 15 of my favorite travel photos from the year.

Now, these won’t all be stunning landscape shots or epic GoPro pictures. But, they’re the ones that mean the most to me, and the ones that highlight the best parts of 2015 for me. So without further adieu, here are my 15 favorite travel photos of 2015.

Expat Life in Ireland // Month #8 recap and photos

Ireland month #8

December was a whirlwind of a month, with the holidays being so fun yet so busy! So, I apologize for my lack of posting.

But, the good news is that I have SO MUCH to share about Christmas in London and the general holiday season in Dublin! Last month may have been quiet, but this month was cold, hectic, festive, and perfect! And spoiler alert: I’m still having an absolute BALL being an American expat in Ireland.

Harry Potter Studio Tour

For today’s post, I’m taking it wayyyy back to the Summer of 2012. I went on a great trip through Europe with a group of college kids. One of our stops was London, and THE single most epic day of our London rendezvous started with a double-decker bus tour that led us to seeing THE QUEEN, and ended with the Harry Potter studio tour.

Expat Life in Ireland // Month #7 recap and photos

Ireland Month #7

We’re over the halfway mark 🙁 🙁 🙁 🙁 🙁 OK you get it, I’m sad that my time as an American expat in Ireland is FLYING by.

The month of November will be known to me as The Month Where Not Much Happened.

Yeah, my hectic and crazy streak over the past 2 months was bound to come to an end sometime. I mean, last month I did visit another country and 2 different Irish cities. So to be honest, this month didn’t have too much going on.

The 7 Best Halloween Destinations for Your Bucket List

The 7 Best Halloween Destinations

Halloween is my favorite holiday. Ok, well, my SECOND favorite holiday, after Christmas. Obviously.

But honestly, I think the main reason I love Halloween is because I love costumes and dressing up. I hate scary movies and I’m a big baby when it comes to haunted houses and things like that. But I absolutely love coming up with costume ideas and getting to be whatever I want for the night! Over the years I’ve dressed up as everything from the Queen of England, a Scarecrow, and an old lady, to a vampire, a cavewoman, a pirate, and Winnie Sanderson from the movie Hocus Pocus (always a crowd favorite).

So, since it’s Halloween time, and being that travel is literally ALWAYS on my mind, I started browsing the internet to find out where the places to visit and celebrate Halloween are. And turns out, there’s a bunch! But I’ve narrowed it down to the Halloween destinations that appealed to me the most. **she says as she adds all of these to her bucket list**

Whether it’s celebrating in some of Europe or the USA’s most haunted cities, to a traditional Dia de los Muertos celebration, or visiting Dracula’s castle, there’s so many places to visit on Halloween! Here are 7 of the best places to visit on Halloween to add to your bucket list!
